The
Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport is about 4 miles east
of the Brownsville city center and about 26 miles from South Padre Island.
Most folks headed for the South Padre Island resorts have been using the
Harlington Airport (HRL) which is about 35
miles to the northwest. The Brownsville folks have been trying very hard
to get more people to use their airport (it has excellent connections
through Houston using Continental Airlines).
