The Kinston Regional Jetport at Stallings Field is 3 miles northwest of
Kinston. When we last checked, the Kinston Airport was served by
the Delta Connection. Stallings Field is now the centerpiece of the North
Carolina Global TransPark, a government-funded speculation with the goal
to bring in a lot of industry to this region. The field has the longest
runway east of the Mississippi and excellent service facilities. For

« Most of the discount hotels are located south and west of Kinston (along US-70 Bypass and US-258 respectively) and are 5 and 6 miles or so from the airport. We queried them and not one was able to offer free VAN service to/from the airport. From the e-mail we have received from folks who have stayed in Kingston, the favorite seems to be the Days Inn on New Bern Road (US-70 Bypass). They have microwaves and small refrigerators in the rooms and local phone calls are free. So we have listed that hotel, below.
